convert

hi ,I'm a fairly recent convert to MFT having jumped in a couple of months ago with a panasonic g.80 and a PL 100-400 ,plus 12-60 kit lens ,after a good trial period ,I decided I needed a back up and have just bought a olympus om-d e-10mkii ,this little pocket rocket is superb ,and now the wife is considering selling her canon gear to and converting

Re: convert

What made you jump? I went from Canon to Oly M43 mainly because of the weight. Lugging two Canon 7D bodies and lenses onto a plane for holidays was getting too much like hard work. I’m still getting used to the cameras but so far it’s so good (and so much lighter!). I’ve got small hands and find the M1-2 body / grip just right, although I got an M5-2 first and struggled with the lack of a proper grip, so I bought the add on grip /battery and it was a huge improvement but I craved the M1-2 so had to move up but no regrets. Still got a drawer full of Canon kit though, but it’s huuuuge!!

basically weight of gear and age ,galloping towards 73 now so it aint gonna get easier ,I have big hands but dont find the little oly a problem ,I will post some pics when my post allowance lets me ..I had a canon 1d3 plus sigma 150-600 sport ,plus arca lens plate etc , big c/f tripod and gimbal (still got those for the winter owls) and I really cant notice any difference in i.q with either the panasonic or olympus bodies to what I was churning out with the canon gear

You must notice quite a difference moving from those alone. I only had ( have!) a 7D2 and 100-400l2 but love the smaller lighter Oly / Pany kit.

Re: convert

Welcome - I hope you enjoy using your Olympus gear. I have returned to Olympus again after being with Canon, and I have to say I'm actually enjoying photography again - i hope you do too
