A start on my shots from the Bristol meet - Ashton Court Estate

Here are a dozen shots I've uploaded - click on each one to go to the gallery where there more background and technical info:

All shot in RAW and processed in Lightroom 3.

I'm having a problem with my monitor at the moment - what I see in IE is different to what I see in Lightroom. The monitor is calibrated but there is a colour shift when viewing in applications, like IE, where there is no colour management support. If you can tell me if the colour looks odd in any of these, I'd be very grateful.

Looks fine to me unless the ice-cream in 2 was a strawberry flavoured one.

Re: A start on my shots from the Bristol meet - Ashton Court Estate

Thanks Bob - it seems OK in profile aware applications liike Photoshop, Lightroom and Firefox (with colour management enabled), but in IE and Windows photo viewer there is a shift to more red, less yellow and more contrast .

It's a quirk of my monitor that I have been struggling with for ages.

There isn't a problem with my laptop display, for example.

The shot of Julia & I has a slight redishness and tint on Firefox on my Mac screen Ian, looks a little less so on my uncalibrated Phillips monitor.

I'm slowly starting to think Nick, that Firefox is playing up a little. I must start to use Safari more, but it's just the lovely add-ons I have in Firefox that make it easier to use for me.

Firefox sure eats resources on times, that's a fact.

John, do you have colour management enabled in Firefox? I have a hunch that it's on by default in Safari.

Thanks Ian, one of the settings was set to 1, the other 0. I made them both 1 so we'll take a look and see the net effect.

Morning John - did you notice ay difference?

Basically, if the browser view looks the same as when viewing the photo in Lightroom or Photoshop, then it's colour managed.

Inspired by the discussion about colour management here, I have produced an article that looks at colour management and Web photos on our general site, DPNow.com, here:

Re: A start on my shots from the Bristol meet - Ashton Court Estate

Is that the lovely Julia who deals with the hire requests?
If it is, at last a face to the voice.
You're not much of a gentleman shooting her stuffing her face with ice-cream, its a bit unflattering.

And I recognise MusicMan by his finger (broken)

Hehe... I said to Julia... "don't you trust me...?", she replied... emphatically, with absolutely no doubt in her voice, in total certainty... "no John, I don't!"

Hehe....
