Great offer and I'm looking forward to exploring more fully its capabilities.

That was lucky! The thing I like best about DHL is they usually have a conveniently located depot within 50 miles of where you live if you have to collect - not like the inefficient old Royal Mail who only have a Post Office you can collect from in every town.

Re: Free 36R flash

DHL rang me before they came out to check I was in. Their depot is about 5 miles away - and we live beyond the sticks! He made a special journey.

Re: Free 36R flash - How to Use the new Toy

Congratulations to all who've received their freebies:

Below is a link which provides very clear instructions on how to use your new flash. I found it invaluable and I think you will too. Suggest you download and print.

Any prospective Olympus customer reading the complaints here is not going to be impressed. I'm going to ask Olympus Japan to log on to this thread so they know my complaint is not an isolated one.

Dave
At last - some progress! I have been communicating with Japan and they have now advised that the Service complaint has been forwarded to Olympus - Europa with the request "they fully investigate the situation and take care of your matter"

We can but wait and see what develops - I now hope to hear from Europe and will post any information when received.

Thanks to all for providing the ammunition which enabled this matter to be pursued.

Re: Free 36R flash

Well, when things happen they really happen fast!

I have just been advised by the South African agents that my 36R will be supplied from local stock and replaced by Germany.

I find it hard to believe this action has resulted from our complaints but if it has it is likely that we all benefit from better communication in future.

Time will tell.

Re: Free 36R flash

I sent off the forms etc for my flash around the end of January and it arrived about 2 and a half weeks later. I was a bit confused to come home to a package on the doorstep, when i hadn't ordered anything and I was stunned to find it was my flash. I expected it to take around a month.

Mine arrived this morning, very similar to my previous FL-36, a nice little unit
