BLM1 battery clone

Earlier today I found an interesting, if old, thread on dpreview that said the Uniross clone was the best of the substitute batteries to use as a spare.

I tracked one down here for 11:99 delivered.

Just thought I'd mention it - and hope nobody's found a better/cheaper deal!

I did look on places like Amazon, but vendors don't seem to specify the brand. I know that some makes run down really quickly, so didn't want to take the risk.

Also hope there's no problem mentioning not-Oly stuff like this.

Re: BLM1 battery clone

Ah, good reminder for me to update this.

The battery arrived some time today, which was incredibly quick delivery.

I've charged it, it took less time than the original so maybe it already held some power. It's 1500 mAh etc, same as the original.

I saw a review of these batteries by someone who tested them electronically (I didn't understand how so don't ask!!) and although they quote 1500mAH he found them to actually be 1700mAH. The Olympus he tested was indeed only the quoted 1500mAH. I immediately bought two on Amazon and they do seem to last longer than the oiginals.
