I have one on mine, and you're right about the looks, but it definitely improves the handling

Re: Pen-F ECG-4 grip....any merits?

I bought an ECG-4 clone from someone on this forum. It was a nice piece of kit, but I decided in the end that I preferred the camera ungripped. I've added a cheapo half-leather case for it, and actually that adds just the right amount of extra grip needed. It also prevents the base of the camera from getting scratched. Looks good too!

Re: Pen-F ECG-4 grip....any merits?

I have clone version too. Makes bigger lenses easier to use, which was the case when I bought the Pen F as it had the bigger sensor over my EM1.1. Now that I have the EM1.2, I rarely use bigger lenses with the Pen F.
I did find that due to the size of the Pen F, the addition of the clone grip didn't leave much room for my fingers and everything seemed rather cramped. Not great in the looks department either........but it was cheap and served a purpose. Very well made too with the Arca style base and end section (removable).
