But maybe write down all your settings from the Menu first, as a written backup. Copy (print) the Menu pages from the PDF manual is one way.

Re: Delay before I can take the next shot

I now have the faster card and it has made no difference at all.
I am going to have to try the factory reset and hope that this clears it up - if not, then I guess the camera has a problem. Since most of what I take is landscapes, this won't make too much difference - an expensive fix may be inefficient if the reset doesn't cure it.
Do, I go for the basic or full rest? (after writing down some settings of course).

If it works fine after the reset, I guess I can change a few settings at a time whilst seeing what if anything makes it go slower.

Full reset!

I'm guessing it will be fine, you probably have (had) some sort of noise reduction selected....

Another vote for full reset to be certain or the one setting that may be causing the problem might not be changed, Sodds law and all that.

This is entirely un-necessary as unless you are filling the buffer the memory card speed makes little difference. I occasionally use cards even slower than this and in general use they are fine.

It shouldn't black out after a single shot unless there is a specific setting. Have you tried resetting the camera to factory settings?

edit: oops, seem a little late to the thread
