Kit flash

I have just taken delivery of a kit, EM 1 Mk 1, 12-40mm Pro and 40-150mm Pro.
I bought it for the 40-150mm Pro and want to sell on the EM1 and 12-mm, but, I cannot get the kit flash to work on it. It works on my Mk 2, but not the Mk 1. Any ideas before I get back to the seller?

Re: Kit flash

They look the same and have the same number FL-LM3. You could be right, I will get back to the seller.

Re: Kit flash

Yes, I think Walti is correct. The flash included with the E-M1 Mk I is the FL-LM2. The FL-LM3 is for the Mk II and will not fit the Mk I, which is a pity as it is a nicer unit.

Re: Kit flash

Hi Dave.

The E-M1 uses the FL-LM2 kit flash not the FL-LM3. There must be some features in the E-M1 MKII that need a different flash interface and so they have made them incompatible.

Regards.

Ron beat me to it.

Thanks guys.
I did ring Olympus and was told that it is the same flash for Mk1 and Mk2, weird. Seller is going to send me one from his wife's Pen F, hope that one works.

No it won't Dave. The PEN F uses the FL-LM3 as well.

Re: Kit flash

I may have a use for the FL-LM3. Let me know if you want to sell it.

Re: Kit flash

They're quite expensive to buy separately, Dave, so even if your seller is offering an LM3 I'd certainly take him up on it:

Re: Kit flash

I have an FL-LM1 in silver which is compatible with the EM1/1. I got it to use on an EP-3 which, after purchase, found out it wasn't compatible. It isn't boxed but comes with the pouch.
Looking at 30 to include 1st class P&P. If interested give me a PM.
