Re: Samyung 7.5 lens (Moved from The Lounge)

Hi just came across this on the 4/3rds rumours site. It appear to be very similar to the Samyung I just got delivered

Yeah Samyang lens are often rebranded as Vivitar, Falcon, Rokinon, Walimex, Bower, Opteka, Polar and Pro-Optic.

Did you see my earlier question, by the way?

Ah OK, thanks. I'm starting to think there aren't any at all with the 1m/3ft marks on them, the person I emailed at UK Digital (a Samyang UK distributor) had never heard of such marks either. The 2 eBay sellers I contacted said their stock didn't have them.

But if there are none then why are there product photos floating around that keep getting used that clearly show marks for 1m and 3ft???

I guess I'll end up doing a DIY job with Tippex like StephenL

Re: Samyung 7.5 lens (Moved from The Lounge)

The photos could be a pre-production copy with different markings. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened.

Old Nick, i think David may be right, i did a little searching it looks like the images with the 1m/3ft markings have been used as early as 2011 for a press review. i'd assumed after i recieved mine that the lens had been updated with the markings, hence my original post.

Do let us know how you get on with yours when you receive it

Couldn't agree more, an excellent lens albeit specialised in use.
