Re: 14 ~ 150 or 40 ~ 150

The new Panasonic 14-150 II is a surprisingly good little lens. I haven't used the older, bigger version, but I was pleasantly surprised by the latest one. Colour and contrast is good, and it's sharper than expected. It's my most used personal outing lens.

They are thin, with absolutely no waterproofing, but will stop the lenses scratching each other and protect them to a certain extent from pocket dust. The 40-150 is about the biggest lens that will fit comfortably.

Ciao ... John

Boots sell latex pouches as well I believe. However, the lubricant seems to smear on the glass

To update the above I have just received the Zuiko 12 ~ 40 mm lens on hire from Ian. And what a lens it is!

I am surprised by its close focusing ability, whilst the f2.8 aperture opens up all sorts of possibilities without incurring excessive noise.

Hopefully I can get out with it over the weekend for a proper try. Sadly I don't have a granny to sell!
