Have I fallen into a time warp? I thought Jessops had gone bump.

The brand and number of the stores (well under half) was acquired by the UK businesses entrepreneur and relaunched earlier in the year.

Thanks. They clearly didn't take on my local shop then. It's still boarded up!

I just hope that all the others that have images on the gondola (as it is called) see this post. How can I ensure that they do as I don't know who they are?

Here is a pic of the gondola in action at Jessops

https://twitter.com/clairevoyle/stat...875328/photo/1

It is on Twitter from Claire Voyle, lovely lady, who I believe works for Olympus, and she very kindly posted this

Enjoy

Brilliant! Thanks Greg. I just hope that others who have their images on the gondola find out about it. It is a pity that each of us weren't told about this personally as that is what I was led to believe would happen (as Mark Thakara told me in an email he has had to juggle too many balls recently . I wonder if the gondola will be featured in any other Jessops store that have reopened???

Any news Shirley?

Re: Oly display in new London Jessops store

I know that Olympus have had other things on their minds in recent months, but this does seem like an image grabbing exercise. I would have expected a more professional running of this and it would certainly make me think twice before doing this sort of thing again. It is great to see our images on an Olympus advertising display and each one has a credit (I think), but we should have been kept informed rather than have to chase the company. I wonder if Ian has any thoughts on this?

Hi Greg,
Absolutely nothing I am afraid.

I feel very disappointed by the treatment Olympus has given to us. They were very quick to respond to me, until they got the images they wanted!

I am trying not to be cynical about this, but, as time goes on I am left thinking that we were all taken for a ride and gave Olympus a cheap display.

I am not bothered about the prize, a visit to the shop and a print of one of my images, in fact I doubt I would be able to go due to work, but it would be nice if somebody had the courtesy to contact me and offer the prize which I had thought I had won.

A very unhappy Olympus customer.

Maybe so ... but a deplorable situation for a photographic equipment manufacturer to have PUBLISHED these images without informing the COPYRIGHT OWNERS ! and to their own benefit in making sales

It is not as if Olympus are some 2 bob hic town business ! They are a multi billion £ corporation

Management & Delegation and Management are missing
