Re: Olympus 12mm

Thanks Huw.
And one more thing Brian,
Whenever I am trying to choose between two lenses I always just flip a coin. If (for example) heads was the 9-18 and th 11-22 was tails, if I was unhappy with the outcome I would go for the other one. It's almost like deep down you know which lens you want, you just need something to tell you to buy the other one before you realise it. It looks to me like you're set on the 12mm. If I were you I'd just get the 12. If you buy the 9-18 you'll be forever wondering 'what if I got the 12?' Plus if you've got the cash lying around now you can always buy the cheaper lens later on.

Re: Olympus 12mm

Yeah, I think you are right, I'd still be wondering about the 12 if I bought the 9-18; so that's it for me , the Panasonic looked like the best until I found you can't fit a filter, so I'm back with the 12mm, I'll get my order in as soon as my eBay funds clear from my canon stuff.
Thanks everyone.

Re: Olympus 12mm

Ordered the 12mm.
Was tempted to get the 7-14 but as its not available for 8 days and doesn't take filters - I decided to stick with the 12mm

So my prime stable is now 12mm, 20mm, 25mm and 45mm
and zoons 14-42, 12-50 and 40-150

And two bodies E-P1 and E-M5.
so sorted now until the 75mm prime arrives on the scene!

Glad I sold my Canon gear to fund this.

Thanks for your advice everyone.

That's a nice little kit you have, Brian!

Re: Olympus 12mm

Just received the 12mm with lens hood and Hoya UV and Polarizer- quick garden shots confirm its a stunner.
Just one issue - cant get the hood over the Polarizer - the knurled part is too wide for the hood to pass over it, and I cant get my fingers inside the hood to tighten the polarizer if I put it on after. Must get my daughther to tighten it up - she has very small fingers.
