Likely ! Not unlikely!

The Revenue/Mr Cameron want us all to earn as much as we can, by setting up new business/income streams - who knows we may employ 3-5 people in as many years! Until a business "gets really going" losses may be offset against Income - as Losses on Investments eg =in Stocks at IBM or Rovers cars are offset against Income

It used to be that you could "Carry back or Carry Forward" for up to SEVEN YEARS ! but I think its now about 2 or 3 years - best to check !

Wow! I haven't had a chance to reply to this thread earlier. I'm humbled by the amount of advice that has been given. I confess that I haven't had a chance to read through every posting yet but I thank everyone who has provided input. This truly is a great forum with helpful, friendly and knowledgeable members. Once again, thanks everyone. Perhaps this will not only benefit me, but others who are in a similar quandary in the future. Brilliant stuff, I'll give more feedback as soon as I get a chance.
