Etaples Cemetery in IR

I have been doing some research on IR photography since I got my converted camera. Wrotniak has a really good article, which I recommend you read if you are starting out. It clarified a few things for me, such as the noise and focus issues, IR really is a different way if thinking.

You can find his article here - http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/infrared/

Last week I had a brilliant day trip to France and armed with my new converted camera I decided to try taking some IR pictures at Etaples war cemetery. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89t...itary_Cemetery I used the camera in conjunction with my fish eye lens, which I feel makes a good combination, what do others think?

Whilst there I changed lenses and camera and took some other pics:-

This grave really got me thinking, it was a German grave amidst the English graves, even though there are two areas where other German soldiers were buried together. I have done in internet search to try and find out why this one is separate but I cannot find anything, does anybody have any ideas?

Dear Shirley,

I have been enjoying you IR work, what a super location to have a play with both the fish eye and your IR camera.

Very nice indeed

Thanks Chris ,
Yes, it's fun trying something so different, it's like starting all over again. The only problem is that few people seem to know anything about IR photography, so it's a case of trial and error until you get something you like. I am hoping that when people start hiring Ian's converted camera that there will be a few more to look at and comment on.
Shirley

Dear Shirley,

I promise I will keep getting my IR E-1 out, we are off to Scotland next week for a holiday. Hopefully I will get some nice opportunities then.

Cheers

Chris

The first shot is excellent Shirley, an unusual and interesting take on a well photographed location.

This is a great subject for IR, and I really like your shots. I also like the way you have toned the images.

Well done
