Black/missing image?

I'm not sure if I have a problem or not, but I'm sure someone on here will know!

The last couple of times I've switched my e520 on, using my recently acquired legacy lenses, the first shot has turned out black...when I say black, I mean it...there is nothing there - the image is just pure black.

The second and subsequent shots are just fine...I shoot in both jpeg and RAW, if that's any help?

The first time it happened was with my CJZ Sonnar 85mm lens, then it happened with my Prinzflex and then the CJZ Sonnar 135mm...each time the first image has just been black, but everything thereafter is just fine.

I'm not sure what's happening here. Can anyone enlighten me please?

Janet

Re: Black/missing image?

Hi Janet
I'm sure there was a thread about this sort of problem a while back but I can't find it. I've been having the same issue with my E-410 and new 70-300 so would be interested if others have a definitive reply - I've just put it down to it's just one of those things, -I'm usually in continuous shooting mode when that lens is on and just run off a few.
As you say "I'm sure someone on here will know!"
Regards Paul

Re: Black/missing image?

I would suggest making sure the lens aperture details are showing on the camera & not this "--" in case it is the lens locking pin being bumped & not returning to normal as it will disable the lens as soon as it is pressed. This could result in completely wrong image settings for the camera. I could barking up the totally wrong tree here, but I thought it might be worth mentioning. The other thought that comes to mind is that the shutter could be sticking.

I hope someone can come up with a good explanation for you.
