I had not heard that, but it could explain it. I do not usually put a jinx on equipment, so I do not think it was me.

Re: EM1 - Rear wheel help please

Update:

The E-M1 camera arrived back today, after a service and repair by Olympus, and looks like new.

I did get a letter, sent in error from Ffordes, inviting me to agree to the Olympus service charge of 132.

A brief telephone call confirmed that someone had made a mistake and the repair was to Ffordes account. Ffordes authorized the repair on 13th July and got the the camera back from Olympus one day later.

Well done Ffordes and Olympus, the problem was fixed with minimum delay.

Now I have to spend the afternoon setting it up the way I want it,

In case I cannot find how to do it, I would appreciate if someone could tell me how to turn off those annoying messages which tell what the menu items mean.

Re: EM1 - Rear wheel help please

I have bought several second-hand Oly cameras over the years, and one thing consistently missing is a USB cable.

I have a great many old USB cables, but none with the right end connector for my E-M1.

I would be grateful if someone could tell me what cable type I need to connect the camera to my computer USB port.

Peter - I've got a few spare Oly cables of the type you need. PM me your address and I'll get a couple in the post this weekend.

Skids, many thanks, as I just replied to Ian, I have ordered one from Amazon, which looks like the right type but is labelled "for TG5"

If it is not right, I will be in touch to accept your kind offer.
