Em1 menus keep turning off.

I can't find any evidence online but my menus will randomly turn off after only seconds. Firmware is up to date, this is second hand so I'm not sure if the firmware was the problem. I've tried turning off live view and nothing is tripping the proximity sensor. It's getting annoying. I've tried covering the viewfinder in case bright light is tripping it. It feels like the menu arrows are crashing on random menus.
The camera is in mint condition. Any thoughts. As ever, thank you.

Re: Em1 menus keep turning off.

Before asuming there's a fault, it's recommended that you do a reset to the manufacturers defaults. I know this is a pain but ensures that user error or change is not at fault.

Do you keep accidentally touching the shutter button?

Re: Em1 menus keep turning off.

Made a little discovery over the weekend, which may/may not be relevant!

I was using the camera in the drizzle and when the EVF surround got rain on it - the camera switched to EVF only... removing the eye cup and cleaning the rain off sorted it.

May be a wild goose chase, but its possibly worth removing the eye cup and ensuring all is clean around the EVF?

thank you, that could be worth a try. The odd thing is the menu will show but when I go into the gear menus for example it will jump back to the menu list of even back to full live view.
