Here's one of Ian in Skye, what do you think he has found?.....

a/ A rare bird
b/ A nudist beach
c/ A humpback whale
d/ Nothing the lens cap is still on
e/ A picturesque harbour view

Olympus lenses don't flare, do they? However, sorry to dissappoint but that's no fairy - it's a mini rainbow created by the sun refracting off the falling water, but it's still magical.

I suspect that was during the eagle shoot. He might have been hoping for a rare bird on a nudist beach but I would think the nearest you came to that was the diver at Fairy Pools.

Re: Pictures from Skye

An excellent selection of pictures, Paul, with some great foreground detail.

Re: Pictures from Skye

I'm still wading through the 500+ images I took and trying to improve on some I like. Here's a slightly different view from the one Ian posted in looking for perfection.

Also I'm looking for some help with this one. This is a 5 shot portrait panorama of the view from the Quiraing on Skye looking east. I think the top left corner of sky looks washed out - any suggestions on how to improve it? I use photoshop CS3.

Re: Pictures from Skye

I can just see the top of Ian's tree in the bottom right nodal third in the first one.

To bring the sky up I would use the magic wand to select a largish area, feather it 250 pixels and change levels and colour. A bit of experimenting will help. Selecting slightly different areas each time should reduce the contour effect.

You're not the only one. We look completely mystified as well.
