Cool E-Group shot from today with David Bailey

I think we all had a good time at the Oly UK E-3 press event today. I'll add more pictures later today, but here is a start - group shot with David Bailey:

This was a slow shutter speed, hand held by a volunteer but the exposure was wronggly set and we were really not in the right place for the lighting (some right under the lights and some in shado), so I have had to post process this quite heavily to recover both burned out highlights and shaded areas. With this in mind, I felt mono was the best way to present this shot

No doubt we will learn more as the day goes on. At least you were all smiling. Is the guest always that moody.

Names behind the smiles would be appreciated, unless of course folk wish to keep thier anonymity.

I'll have a go, but the user names and real names have addled my brain

Do correct me if I'm wrong - From left to right: Art Frames, emirp. Ian, Mr.Bailey, sapper, dlinney, vokesie, (front) MusicMan.

I do hope that's correct!

Thanks for the pic. DB is smiling in this one, how much did it cost you lol.

I am a little cross today. BG phoned five minutes past the four hour slot (engineer will call between eight and twelve) to say sorry can't come to fix central heating, he has an emergency on!
Thanks BG for not allowing me to attend this event today.

Yours

We were missing one person - PaulPP? Sorry if we missed you, Paul?

My colleague, (another) Paul Watkins - was too shy to get into the picture!

So the site had a representation of ten people.

Re: E-Group shot from today with David Bailey

To redress the balance a Bailey shot without the group!!

I was playing with a very expensive very big lens and having fun. The group may have been there but I'd have needed to get into the car-park to shoot it.

A great day Ian. Thank you so much

Peter

PS I have 90 pictures to sort through! Some good ones for a first touch of the camera. I'm so impressed.

That's a lovely study of Bailey - the lens quality shows through nicely too. That was the 150 f/2 wasn't it?

Re: E-Group shot from today with David Bailey

Thanks for the invite Ian. It was a great day and I really enjoyed it . Good to put some faces to names on the forum, and meet like minded people generally. Also an excellent chance to play with the kit, especially the lenses. I absolutely fell in love with the 150mm, and reaffirmed my want for the 8mm.

Weirdly, the CF card they gave me would'nt work in either of my CF readers. Just not seen. I had to leave it in camera and transfer via USB. Perhaps it needs formatting in camera... Anyway.

I didn't go in much for the models etc being caught up chatting and drooling over lenses and technobabble with reps, but I grabbed a couple of snaps:

All the best,
Phil

Some super shots there Phil... great work.

Here's a few more from me before I check-out for the night...

One of the female models:

... and the James Bond lookalike...

Re: E-Group shot from today with David Bailey

The model shot is a stunner! Great work John. The Bond is good too, classic Bond. But the pose, reflection and angle of the car work particularly well together in the first. WB/Exposure seems retro too... don't know why, it has more atmosphere.
All the best,
Phil
