My Yi Technology M1 article is now up at DPNow.com - it's a fascinating if contradictory camera. For example it has the latest 20 megapixel Sony sensor and Bluetooth plus WiFi, but no IS and no flash and not even support for dedicated flash:

The 42.5mm f/1.8 lens with macro function looks interesting.

Back to using Auto or Manual flash then. I guess that is better than no flash.

I wonder who would be interested in buying such a camera? First timers?

I suppose a quote from DPR gives an answer there.
Quote:
YI's target demographic is a group that is looking to move on from their smart phone based camera, but perhaps isn't ready or interested in, taking the plunge into the realm of a traditional DSLR or mirrorless platform.

It's got a red splodge on the front so it must be a Leica. I've got a few official red dots if anyone wants to glue one over the pretend one. Of course, being Leica red dots they won't be cheap.

If it can take Canon FD lenses, I can use it, but without an EVF, its a brick. The red dot will certainly improve image quality and guarantee top IQ and the ability to never miss a shot.

I need one of those red dot's Dave

Danny.
