Re: Glorious Glen Affric

A lovely image Iain and I expect it was a lovely walk too
Great scenery as always (one of the many reasons we so enjoy visiting the Scottish highlands when we can).
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for ruining my day. I'm sitting at my desk fretfully rocking backwards and forwards, quietly repeating, "I'm not jealous, I'm not jealous."

That's a cracking picture and you obviously had a wonderful day. Do you still meet up with Steve Stoats? (Think I've got his name right)

Sorry John

Yes, I still meet up with Steve Oates (Stoates), we had a great day out last Wednesday, up to the north west, Steve now uses an E-M1 Mark II with his Four Thirds lenses and does occasionally pop in to the forum to keep up with the 'news'.
Here are some shots from that trip:

A fogbow at Loch Shin

Bothy at Loch Stack

Sunset at Loch Cl Dromannan

Re: Glorious Glen Affric

Hi John (Zuiko). Nice of you to remember me after all of this time - it has certainly been a while since my last post () though as Iain said I often drop by the forum to 'catch up' and see what is going on in Olympus land.

Iain and I get out quite regularly, though perhaps not as often as in the past or as much as we would like! If any forum members are ever in our neck of the woods it would be a pleasure to meet up and share some of our 'local knowledge'.

By way of 'reintroducing' myself to the forum I have added my take on the pleasing if not spectacular sunset we observed at Loch Cul Dromannan, just North of Ullapool last week.

(Hope you don't mind me 'hijacking' your thread Iain? - and your image from Affric was stunning by the way!)

Nice to hear from you Steve, I'm glad to see you are still taking quality photographs. I enjoy the beauty of a subtle, understated sunset (or sunrise) as much as the highly saturated, colourful ones and this is a great example with its soft light and delightful pastel tones. I wish I had teamed up with you two guys for some trips when I was younger and able to do so.
