I can shoot any rose better than you"

Oh dear To have to sink to this level.

If I recall correctly it was Himself - that Witty Warlock, that threw down the gauntlet - and me - who hates competition of any sort, is now forced to respond.
But as Witches have been so badly treated over the years I just regard this as more persecution to be bravely endured.
Instead of the standard hum-drum photos of roses, I submit some favourites from my own garden (points for this please). I do not have to scour the streets for other people's flowers - and I can name them all. More points please.

Lavender Pinnochio. No garish red or insipid white here. Delicate perfection.

And how about a difficult colour? Oly does it so well. Rhapsody in Blue.

And a different perspective? Just Joey.

And the wonderful view from the 35mm lens.

And what about Papa Meilland at night with a flash? Floating richness.

Do I see a white flag waving in the distance?

You certainly weave a powerful spell, Lyn!

Ooooh! Lyn, the last rose Papa Meiland shot at night is a winner. Not sure if it will produce a white flag though. Aparently Pandora has an abundance of determined blood im his veins, he's no quitter!!
This "tete a tete" is producing some lovely images :-)

A winner perhaps, but just wait 'til you see his seductive daughters Conor!

In her delusion the Witch of the West's "white flag" is the advancing flash of Lancastrian steel ... !

Oh dear, yes. But the last one is a real winner!

The 2nd rose, Rhapsody in Blue, looks lovely & if the bloom in the middle was singled out it would be a 'perfect picture'.

Thank you Conor. That Papa Meilland shot is one of my favourites.
No - Himself will never surrender and admit my roses are the best!
Hopefully our "nonsense" is considered just good fun, and as you say, brings out some nice images.

I am glad you like that night shot of Papa Ross. I think it shows up the velvety petals nicely.
And Rhapsody in Blue is a lovely rose.
I will post a couple more before I lay down my arms and retire gracefully from the battlefield! To live to fight another day?
