Motorcycle racing (tricky!)

Guy Martin racing at Olivers' Mount, Scarborough

I took this using the E410, and the 70-300 lens at 70mm 1/1600 sec, f4.

I was really struggling to find a suitable shutter speed. However I think this image "works".

About 70% of the images I captured ended up being deleted, motorsport photography is harder than you think!

Re: Motorcycle racing (tricky!)

Motorsport is hard and alot of practice is required. I usually shoot at 1/800 if the subject is coming straight at me as this bike is and when panning anything down to 1/30th depending on how much background blur I'm after.

Nice to see another E4** user shooting motorsport. The 70-300 is my favourite lens too. Just uploading my pics from goodwood yesterday, will post a couple shortly.
