A day in woods (5 images)

Day off, camera charged. What else was I supposed to do but for a walk in woods?

Some Fungus growing on a tree

E-M1, 12-40 f2.8 @ ISO 200, 40mm, f3.5, 1/80

Crop of the same image

E-M1, 12-40 f2.8 @ ISO 200, 40mm, f3.5, 1/80

Couple from ground level

E-M1, 12-40 f2.8 @ ISO 800, 20mm, f11, 1/20

(I didn't put the moss on top of this one - it's how it was)

And my personal favourite

E-M1, 12-40 f2.8 @ ISO 200, 40mm, f2.8, 1/3200
Just wish I had got the bottom of both posts in, rather than cutting the right one off.

A nice set despite the thumbnails! You'll have to reshoot the keep off the mud sign!

Re: A day in woods (5 images)

I'm loving the E-M1 and 12-40 pro it's a fantastic combination.

Gotta get 40 -150 pro and tele converter should be all the kit I need (for most circumstances). Maybe a nifty 50/25mm

Re: A day in woods (5 images)

Hello Marty,
Your first fungus is as Ulfric guessed called Jelly Ear (Auricularia auricula-judae) and quite common just now. I saw some today on a dead Elderberry tree. I'm not sure what the other one is without more information.
Regards Jim.

Elder is their normal host tree. The contours inside the "ear" are a good subject.
