Looking for improvement This is the e-group critique board. If you post a picture here it will be assumed that you are looking for comprehensive technical feedback - both good and bad, but always respectful. Only post pictures here if you can deal with potentially negative constructive criticism. Anyone is qualified to comment and post feedback, and everyone is encouraged to do so. NB: "Looking for Improvement" is the place to post any pictures you would like advice on improving, no matter how bad you might think they are.

It is of interest indeed. Nice.
There seem to be a lot of programmes about that you can use to convert shots to mono, but I think you still have to have an eye for Black and White, and perhaps I just haven't got that.
Will keep trying.

Will keep trying.
Topaz Clarity doesn't convert to mono; it has settings for e.g. micro clarity, and micro contrast, which are hard to do manually. It'll bring up clouds, and gives both colour and mono shots more pzazz.

I've lost some of my 'eye' this year, with a health issue and not doing much photography; I also really lost inspiration. I thinik you just need two things:
1. to keep trying;
2. a little encouragement, and not merely having your work rubbished by those who believe that they are better.
