"What's that stuff falling from the sky!?"

It's been a dry winter & today we are getting some rain & this Noisy Miner just happened to look up to time with my shutter.

"Whatever it is, it's falling all the way down there!"

E-M1 Mk II, 40-150 Pro lens +MC14, cropped & processed in Capture One, but sharpened & reduced in OV3 for display.

Yeah, we had that for a few days through the last school break (two minors & two extra dogs).

Thank you.
They can be good at keeping other birds away too, but we still have other visitors thankfully.

Re: "What's that stuff falling from the sky!?"

Nice shots almost looks as if its head is peaking out though it's neck feathers in number 1 rather turtle like.
We are on a short break to Jersey and had a great day planned , up early get bus to shopping district then walk about the sights quick bite to eat visit Marina then home to make a nice meal for the people we are staying with.
Woke at 6am and I said what the bird said the problem is it is still coming down. Stuck in all day all we accomplished was the meal and so to bed.
Tomorrow is another day( to try out our plan) .

Thanks Ed. These birds do get around & I was lucky to get these photos by pointing the lens from the deck, back from the balcony as I can't normally get too close to these birds without spooking them.
At least we got 9mm more rain yesterday but with the winds around afterwards (easing tomorrow) it is drying the garden out again (especially pots etc), but hopefully you'll get some fine weather though.

I missed out on a wink or too last night (just staying up too late), but the only odd thing that happened was with your post #9 in the title,
