  • On a Clear Day

An early morning view of Mt Wellington from the Eastern Shore. Note the rocky face known as the Organ Pipes, detailed in #3.
    #1.

Overlooking Hobart and the Derwent River from the summit at 4,170 feet.
    #2.

The Organ Pipes consists of columnar dolerite, it is an awesome sight from the base.
    #3.

An inspiring view looking south over huge dolerite boulders and rock formations on the southern shoulder.

Keep them coming Mark, they are all superb, and tell a wonderful story that I look forward to seeing each morning when I visit eGroup.

Of these... left #3 for me. Smasher.

Magical is a good description of Tasmania as a whole - a photographer's paradise.

Now that I'm back home on the mainland I'm not sure how long I can keep finding new things to photograph.
Hopefully Autumn will bring on an inspiring change of scenery, John.

          Thanks for looking.

Hi Bill - actually, 250 miles further!
In the early days of settlement a notorious bushranger who lived in a cave on the mountain side, murdered several hikers.
Just goes to prove what desperate characters you deported to Van Diemans Land!
