Furthermore, I greatly appreciate the following advice re lenses ! Your were spot on ! the 50-200 - anything more would be too much
I don't know what lenses you have but I find the 50-200, occasionally with the EC14, covers most eventualities. I contemplated taking the 90-250 last week but with some animals, such as the water vole, frogs and snakes, I would have been within the minimum focussing distance. The principal advantage of a photographic day is that you get inside some of the cages and there won't be as many folk around as on an ordinary day.

Nick and I booked for today and had a terrific day out - the Keepers were superb in helping us "get the shots of the day" - Special thanks to David for without your post I would never have known of the existence of BWC

Great set of images Chevvy; especially like the framing of the fox in the grass.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. There's no better place for getting pix of British mammals except perhaps www.wcwpc.co.uk/ which I intend to try some time.

          I love the mouse.

Number 3 of the fox is absolutely superb. One of the best fox pics I have seen!
              Thanks

Timmy Thank You for your kind comment.

BUT I can ask everyone, do these animals look real ?
Perhaps my leg is being pulled, but two friends thought they look"unreal" and were maybe stuffed animals

I know they are real, but perhaps the IQ of the E-5 is too much for them ? (both use **non cameras)

A nice set Chevvy, they don't look stuffed to me, just relatively used to humans I guess.

Re: Badgers; Red Squirrels; Foxes etc.,

Greg Thanks for your kind comments ! YES it was Utterly AWESOME being close the wee "beasties" I am dreadfully dull and have about 300 shots I love from this one day out ! I fulfilled a lifetime ambition getting close to the Red Squirrels and actually seeing one live but the Badgers and Foxes were mega BONUS to me .

However, I would love to spend 6 months in the countryside living in a wooden lodge and out all hours seeing the wildlife in their life and times ... but it is unlikely for this to happen, for quite a few years, then I need the health to hike ! and rough it

These are a great set of critter images that I am loathe to Critter-size, Chevvy!

I have to say that the cat looks ferral even if it's someone's much loved moggy. The last fox I saw was a dead one on the highway yesterday.

psst I wish I had thought of THAT one

The cat is not a domestic ... its "a Scottish Highlands Wild Cat" The biggest British feline and it was real SCARY

Yes Chevvy, I thought it looked like a wild cat - there's a bounty on ferral cats in some locations here Downunder, they kill the wildlife, especially birds.

Mark we are Dog and Bird Peeps in this house and we have just bought a very high frequency cat get rid of "thing" ! I hope it works, as my garden stinks of cat pee in the morning after the Toms have "marked" it and I dare not let the dogs after the cats as the dogs would follow the cats across the road
and dogs do not get 9 lives

I have found a few more of my Favs from this day ... maybe I shall add a few more later ... when all the children go home
