Thumbs up My 12-40 Pro lens hood modification.

Others have mentioned the 'less than ideal' arrangement for the lens hood on the 12-40 Pro lens & I have also been affected by its unfortunate design as it starts to come off the lens while lifting it out of my bag, so I decided to attack it to solve the problem.

This is the 'parking' side release, as normal.

But the side for use has now been made safer so it doesn't release the hood when it isn't supposed to (hopefully).

A belt sander followed by careful carving knife (or scapel) use makes a difference!
I know, I could have been more careful.

I really think Olympus should have modified this hood so the release buttons are flush with the hood outside diameter, so inadvertent release doesn't occur.

I fiddle with violins (when I'm not fiddling with a camera).
