Sigma 56mm f1.4 DC DN

Sigma are squeezing in a 56mm f1.4mm lens into an already crowded MFT portrait lens market. While I think very highly of my only Sigma lens - the 30mm f1.4 DC DN, I wonder where this new lens will fit in the market.

The price is not clear yet but considering the superb value of the 30mm, it might be competitive for the 56mm too. If it is around the 450 mark, it probably will sell well, but will still have to compete with the old but all-metallic and superb Olympus 75mm f1.8 which is now available at around 500 new.

The semi-grey UK digital have announced it at 999 but methinks that this is an error. At that price, it will have to compete with the PanLeica Nocticron and Olympus 45mm f1.2, both of which have professional build quality. The build quality of my 30mm f1.4, though plastic, is very good and at an advertised weight 280 grams, the 56mm will almost certainly be similar but IMO will not be able to compete with those other two if the UK Digital price is correct.
