Sure, it's an improvement, although it is in real life what psychologists call a 'JND' - a just-noticeable difference. I suppose my question is whether that is worth more cost and 25% more rapid loss of hard disk space and slower post processing!

I'm thinking about the E-M1 II, of course, and for me the main attraction has always been based on potentially significantly improved CAF performance rather than better resolution or noise.

After all, we already have rather old mirrorless cameras with adequate CAF performance that is significantly better than that of the E-M1 (i.e. the Sony A6000) so I'd like it in a modern Olympus, please!
