There's a member over on DPR who is complaining of exactly the same problem (zero Panasonic service capability) after breaking his 100-400. I have to say, I think this is a very poor decision by Panasonic. I have the 8-18 too but in light of this position, it'll definitely be the last Panasonic lens I'll buy. I had a good look at their new 50-200 f2.8-4 at TPS and thought it was an excellent proposition for a zoom lens in this range. But there's no way I'd shell out 1600 on a piece of kit knowing that there is zero after-sales support for it. Shocking!

Bravo to Olympus for an excellent service offering in Portugal. Let's hope it doesn't get closed off to us (or expensive to use) when Brexit happens (OK, sorry, I mentioned the B word!!).
