Seeing the other post about printing reminded me to do an update here...

I sat down with them and asked what they could do, and they suggested that the A2 print was done at 150dpi (which I thought was low). The output is great, when viewed really closely (face touching the print close) there is a little bit of detail loss in some areas, (for example along the cut edge of the crop) but as soon as you are more than 100mm away it looks fine.

Colours have come out slightly different to my monitor - no surprise as I have never calibrated the monitor nor downloaded a printer profile. so the greens are a little darker and the yellows a little brighter.

I got them to print on standard photographic paper rather than an art paper and all is good with the quality.
