m4/3 is supposed to be smaller than regular 4/3 which was supposed to be smaller than competitive crop systems and FF.









One cannot just use terms like "little" and "small" out of context.
The terms are relative and you have to compare to what are the other options. And the pictures above really show how small the Zuiko 12-40 is.
If size is all that matters, then we would probably use pocket cameras or our smartphones.

True, the Zuiko 12-40 could probably be a bit smaller and lighter but that would mean worse construction quality (don't forget it is a weather-proof and all-metal lens).
A lens of this caliber is supposed to be of top quality so it can match the quality of a professional camera body (and with the battery grip attached).
I've used a friend's E-M1+HLD-7 with this lens it actually brought balance to the Force! Awesome combination...

I totally agree that the Lumix 14-45 is a wonderful lens, but it cannot really match the Zuiko 12-40 in any aspect.
