Let's have a new thread so that anyone who goes to one of the hands-on preview sessions for the E-M1X can report back and give opinions on what it is really like.
No reason to stop the speculations on the other thread though!
The thing with this camera is it looks huge, but whenever I see it in someone’s hand it doesn’t look bad. I’m guessing quite a bit smaller than the original E-1?

It is big, but the grip feels good with space for all your fingers. But it's bigger than the E-1. About 3mm wider and 34mm higher. With both batteries loaded it weighs about 50% more. With longer lenses it feels well balanced.
Looking forward to some realtime reports on this beast.Off to the NEC in March so hope there are some good deals. I have read good and not so good reports of the camera, so await unbiased reports from here.
I had a surprise opportunity for a fondle this aftie - Oly man Chris Booth turned up with one at LCE in Salisbury for a couple of hours so I dashed down to see it.
I'm very glad I did. It pretty much confirmed what the previews were saying - it struck me as h-u-g-e and h-e-a-v-y. I have stubby little fingers and for me, the grip was so big that I couldn't hold it comfortably. There are plenty of nice things about it (the joystick for focus point selection is really nice) and I'm sure it delivers great images (subject to driver competence, of course) but it took about 3 seconds to realise that it's not for me.
I asked about AF behaviour with 4/3 lenses and Chris didn't know but promised to ask. He also didn't have much he could say about new lenses, except that there is probably going to be an announcement in Feb, and what we already know about the 150-400.
He didn't have much detail on the new flash system, but there are some details on the Oly page now which might answer a few questions:
Thanks for the detailed shell photos Andy. I'm guessing the GPS receiver lives under the 'pop up flash' cover. Did you tap that? I guess it might be plastic?
