Re: Underwhelming CAF - 9 and 5 point modes

Did not realize that, plain stupid design then. The whole reason for selecting the 5 or 9 box is when single point is too hard to keep on a fast moving erratic target whilst all 121 could find the...

Re: Whew that was close!

My grandchildren of similar ages to yours have not yet done anything.
However I well remember when my eldest son got my camera gear out of the cupboard, took all the lenses out, removed the lens...

Re: Whew that was close!

I very carefully made sure there were no dangling straps, indeed the camera was put into the middle of the table. Pesky pooch reached right into the middle of the table and grabbed the camera by the...

Whew that was close!

Several months ago SWMBO decided she wanted a dog ending in a "short detour" of 30 miles or so without telling me why resulting in the acquisition of a retriever pup.
Now 10 months old he is sweet...

Curious to know more about the "gun-sight" arrangement.

I suspect that is the problem and that he is getting a review of the last shot.

Re: Desert Rose flower buds opening time-lapse.

I was expecting something else when I saw the title Desert Rose. I remember my dad telling me about Desert Roses in the Africa Campaign during WWII, the thought of one of those and time lapse was too...

Re: Time to say goodbye ?

Interesting that you feel that the Nikon "juussst" got more keepers. Stack that up against the fact that you have already left the Nikon camp once due to the size/weight issue speaks volumes to me,...

Re: Time to say goodbye ?

It might be an idea for you and your son to swap cameras for one of the meetings to see if it is the camera or the fact that your son, being young, will be steadier and have better reflexes than you....

Re: M10 Mark III review

OK I stand corrected on the price increase The worrying thing is that Brexit has not really hit yet.

Re: M10 Mark III review

The Mk III is one big yawn as far as I am concerned, a rather weak excuse to put the price up.
The next one due an update is the E-M5 so I await that one with some trepidation now.

Re: Long Dilemma - please help

I would be interested to know in what way you feel it is better. Do you mean versatility being a zoom or something else? Not that I have the funds to buy one at the moment!

Re: Long Dilemma - please help

Surely the 40-150 f2.8 "whizzy one" plus the 1.4 converter would give 420 mm equivalent? Still a long way short of 800. I have the Canon 100-400 mk II and it is a superb lens but much heavier than...

Solar Eclipse Damage.

I thought this was quite interesting showing the damage caused to cameras by shooting the recent eclipse in America without an appropriate special filter. Obviously mirror-less cameras can't have...

Re: Delay before I can take the next shot

Another vote for full reset to be certain or the one setting that may be causing the problem might not be changed, Sodds law and all that.

Re: Pen-F, Shoot w/out lens setting ?

I have not got a Pen F but if that camera works the same as my Olympus gear of EM-10 and EM-1 (and I can't imagine it would be any different) then it works the same as for a totally manual lens as...

Re: What camera setting mistake have you made?

I think this is my most common mistake (I am working my way through most of them!). The clutch on my 300 is fairly easily moved and seems to be in the wrong position quite often, again like you...

Re: Delay before I can take the next shot

Perhaps it is time to reset the camera so everything is on factory default? See if that cures it then put your settings in one by one checking each time.
