Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

Nice photos. Your 50-200 and EC20 has served you well. Thanks for sharing your experience with that setup.

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

A tester claims he has had his/her hands on (what I guess is a prototype) of the rumoured 150-400 and that it is a constant F/4. He also guesses the lens will be on the market late 2019, together...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

A tester has leaked out his/her first impressions from the camera.

"Video specs are on par with the GH5s, autofocus equal to the Sony A9, best EVF in the industry!"

AF equal to A9 sounds an...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I can imagine that for subjects typically free from motion blur (landscape, architecture, stilleben...) then the hand-held hi-res feature supporting shutter times as low as 1/60s (rumoured) would be...

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

I have the setup on a rapid strap sling model. With the 300 F/4 (with or without MC14) a fully charged battery will last a long photo session with standby set at 1 minute. If I want to check the...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

For me the AF performance is what counts most but there is a limit for how much I am prepared to shell out to gain improvements as the EM1.2 is pretty good already. It is not possible to answer your...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Yes and No.
People who opted for m43 mainly because of the cost/weight vs. FF and superb handheld shooting capabilities with long focal lengths will not be deterred by the size. People who chose...

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

Thanks for spotting my mistake. I was thinking 1.4 but had the 1.25 rumour open on the screen while typing. I meant 1.4x.

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

Thinking deeper about it... if we put the rumoured 2.0TC aside for a moment, either a false rumour or intended for other lens/es.

And then imagine F/4.5. If the rumoured built-in 1.25X TC turns...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I doubt Olympus have the means and resources to split their R&D into more than the micro four thirds product line.

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

I think that the rumoured lens will be F/4 . F/4.5 or higher while introducing a rumoured MC20 at the same time puzzles me a bit, not sure about the AF performance at F/9 . Or could it be that the...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Hi,

I understand that most of us would like to see "smaller at reasonable cost" and not "bigger at excessive cost". However I think we need to look at the context and competition before expressing...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

The first one briefly appearing at 0:02 looks like the 300mm F/4 to me.

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

At 0:06 into the video you get an idea of the form factor of the camera body, which seems to coincide with the already leaked pictures posted on four third rumours. What puzzles me is the lens -...

Re: From E-510 to OM-D E-M5

Buying the MMF3 to use 4/3 lenses on m4/3 bodies makes sense only if the lenses are "high grade", such as the 12-60SWD or the 50-200SWD. If your 4/3 lenses are "consumer grade" you better go for m4/3...

Re: Sigma 150-600 mm adapted for MFT???

In my case the only subjects where the C-AF managed to keep up with subject motion have been placid gulls following a predictable trajectory.

BTW I forgot to mention that the OMD IBIS is a...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

If Olympus also launch the rumoured telephoto with a 100mm or 90mm front lens, something like 400mm F/4 or F/4,5 (or a 150-400 zoom for that matter) then the ergonomy/balance of the combo may benefit...

Re: Sigma 150-600 mm adapted for MFT???

Hi,

For m4/3 and Metabones then only Canon lenses are supported, not Nikon.

The focal length of the lens and the...
