Re: The Photography Show - free entry for some

Have been to a few trade shows in my time, mostly at the NEC. Most were strictly trade only, but they allowed engineering students as well. Not having Joe Public around allowed space and time to...

Re: New camera - what do you do first?

Unfortunately the manual was written by a geek using geek language, so the best of luck to you. When I purchased the EM5 back in 2013 I thought it was important to understand the many options, but I...

Re: The Photography Show - free entry for some

You could possibly add another to your list, Mark. I'm informed there's a stall selling used film cameras. But that alone does not entice me.

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

It'll be interesting to find out how many they sell in Japan. Thought those Japs liked their 'Tech' nice and compact.

That's interesting - not come across the Zutter before today. I'm just googling it...

re setting up the EM5 - very little to do, just set to RAW capture and fire away. Can't remember if it's...

Re: The Photography Show - free entry for some

This is strange behaviour indeed, ie individuals taking their cameras to camera shows - it sounds like the equivalent of Crufts with owner taking along their doggies.
I've not been to the Ideal Home...

Re: The Photography Show - free entry for some

I think I'll give it a miss, as usual. It sounds more like a technology show than photography per se, and I have zero interest looking at digital cameras that basically look the same, or discussing...

Re: The Photography Show - free entry for some

I wonder why they allow 'Pro' photogs in FoC, but charge Joe Public? It doesn't make sense. But neither does charging entry to an event which is basically one big retail outlet!

If I were to mount...

Re: My latest foray into FF mirrorless - and why I'm sticking with m43

Simply that, it's too inconvenient for most people living in the age of consumerism. "I want it, and I want it now" is the cry. Followed by "Its broken, so I'll buy another"

Re: My latest foray into FF mirrorless - and why I'm sticking with m43

If you're after attention, try carrying a film camera. The number of times I've been stopped by individually remarking, 'wow, film! - I'm waiting for someone to ask can you still get film as I have a...

Sounds like a world record to me. Have you been in touch with Guiness?

Re: How many legs does a chair have??

No need for IS at 1/250 on a 135mm lens, especially given the camera doesn't have any stabilisation, apart from inertia.

IS - is that the 'So called IS' ;)

Thanks Mark, to be honest I can't remember the setting and it was only a week ago - can you believe that! I do know for certain it was not in a lift, but more likely in a cafe since I remember having...

Re: Puddle Jumper

Ah, ok, sort of got it?!
But the thing is, like HC-B, I was using film. And if you were to look at the contact sheet you would see that there is only one frame devoted to the puddle jumper.

Re: Puddle Jumper

Ok Mark, you've got me on this, what on earth is ProCap. Is it some sort of lens cap designed so that you can't take pictures of a lens cap you've inadvertently left on the lens when using a RF?
