Re: New lenses coming

Producing PRO lenses does not make the system less portable.
Olympus will still sell the light lenses for those which want portability. The idea is to offer higher IQ to the Olympus users which are...

Re: E-M1 Mark II review by Mircea Bezergheanu

Yes, I can confirm. Capture One seems to be the most compatible raw editor for E-M1 II, much better than Olympus Viewer 3.

Unlike previous Olympus cameras, the implementation of JPEG engine for...

Re: Is it worthwhile repairing a 12-60 SWD lens?

It depends how much it costs to fix it.

My 12-60 had the aperture stucked recently. Olympus Service fixed it for aprox. 120 Euro.

I had the same problem with 50-200 SWD. This one was cheaper...

Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

I just tested E-M1 MARK II + 50-200 SWD + EC-20.

It works very fine, much better than on E-5:
-faster focus, good enough for birds in flight (I felt very comfortable with speed);
-it's very...

I believe you.
Very often the personal experience is more relevant then a review made in artificial conditions.

Re: 35-100/2.0 + EC-20 -or- 50-200/2.8-3.5 ???

EC-20 is a great item if you know on which lenses to use it.

On the MK1 version of 50-200, ec-20 has a lot of problems: a lot of CA, slow focus, poor quality at end zoom (350mm-400mm).

EC-20...

Re: First shots with the m4/3 40-150mm pro & TC

For the smal birds, when you are close to the subject, stop down to F/5.6...F/8.0. I prefere F/8.0.

Re: First shots with the m4/3 40-150mm pro & TC

The rainbow from the waterdrops have nothing to do with lens, only with reflections and refractions of the light through the water. It is normal, nothing wrong.

Re: Wanted EC-14/EC-20 Teleconverter

50-200 SWD + EC-20 works very fine. Results are nice, sharp. Focus speed is fast enough for BIF. The level of CA (chromatic aberations) is low/minimal. I fully recomend EC-20 in this case.

50-200...

Re: EC-20 and 50-200 SWD

In previous pages I wrote my conclusions and posted samples for 50-200 MK1 + EC-20.

Since 3 weeks ago I bought 50-200 SWD.
Now I had the chance to compare how is 50-200 SWD + EC-20 vs. ...

Re: Olympus Zuiko TC EC-20 Teleconverter

I used 50-200 MK1 for long time.
1 month ago I bought 50-200 SWD.
I tried EC-20 on both versions of 50-200.

I found that:
-50-200 MK1 + EC-20 works acceptable at F/9.0 and focus is too slow for...

Re: White BIF

I sugest TO zoom out completely (50mm focal length) and try to re-focus on an object. When you get the focus confirmation, then you can zoom in again and use normally your lens.

Re: White BIF

My recomandations:

1. close the aperture to F/7.1 or more if you have light (if you use F/3.5 as you had used in your first picture, the DOF is too small and the bird will move out of it);

2....

Re: Do I need a Sigma 50-500 for bird photography?

@birdboy
I also prefere 50-200, eventualy EC-14. I do not have problems to get close.

If you stay at 300mm-350mm and F/8.0-9.0, I tempted to think that you would get much sharper BIFS.

Re: Do I need a Sigma 50-500 for bird photography?

I am wondering if there is somebody who had the chance to compare 70-300 with 75-300 II on the same body (E-M5 or PEN).

Acording to DXO, 75-300 II has better sharpness than 75-300 I or even...
