Re: Adobe CC updates

I would be tempted to uninstall the printer driver, make sure it's the latest version, and reinstall - less extreme than getting hold of an old version of PS! but you may already have done that, of...

Re: Adobe CC updates

Sorry to hear about your woes, Peter. I haven't had that problem and don't recall seeing any similar descriptions when I was trawling around for info on the problems with the print dialogue box.

Re: Tony Northrup believes micro-four-thirds is dead

One of the small things I like a lot about the E-M1 Mk II is that the battery gauge is much improved. On all the previous Olys I have had it has been so unreliable that for shooting events I would...

Thanks for the explanation Paul, I vaguely remembered something like that but not the detail.

Re: New Olympus Patent: 400mm f4.0 MFT Lens

Exactly. So in what way does it "take away one of the main selling points of the MFT system - portability"?

Yes, it's big. But it is still considerably than the equivalent for 35mm format would be...

Re: New Olympus Patent: 400mm f4.0 MFT Lens

Of course not. If you want f/4 at 400mm it is going to be big, heavy and VERY expensive whatever your sensor size. But you don't have to use that lens for everything, and if you want portable there...

Re: Adobe CC updates

It's the print dialogue, Hec. The previews are (often) not sowing properly - very pixellated, sometimes incomplete. Printer settings (e.g. portrait/landscape) are (often) not showing in the preview....

Re: Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f4.0-5.6 MSC R Lens

I think there must be a lot of variation between samples of this lens, as some people say they are not impressed by it. I bought one from a forum member and had some good results with it - this is...

Re: Little tuna (FT 300 f/2.0) - 1150 o.n.o.

Wex have one at 841 - (relatively) cheap but it looks as if it has been round the block a few times! But I don't think Wex sell rubbish.

Re: Capturing a scene the old way

I did a compo of about 15 shots from film, I think it came out at 45 inches by 6. Even with that it was a beast working out how to display it with anything more sophisticated than Blu-Tak.

Re: Communal Night-Sky Photography Thread

Phill - your description of the lockup sounds similar to the problems that some of us had with the E-M1 Mark I when it was new. It just seized up under apparently random circumstances, and among the...

Re: A "grassbow"?

Thanks for the link Jim. I've seen that page before but had forgotten about it.

I think that must be what it is, but it didn't match the description. In shape it was a straight line, more like the...

A "grassbow"?

I was up unusually early this Sunday morning and saw something I have never seen before. Out in a stretch of open grassland there was what looked lie rainbow formed by dew in the grass:

Re: Moon

Mars, I think. Lots of excited people have recently been putting phone pics up on Faecesbook claiming to be the moon and Mars - and the pictures are so poor that they could be anything, complete with...

Adobe CC updates

For this of us on the Adobe CC bandwagon there is a new set of updates. I haven't tried anything out yet but from a quick look at the descriptions there are some small goodies in Lightroom, more...

Excellent entries all round, hard to pick favourites as always. Well done to winners - and everybody else! It is clearly a subject that resonates widely with the membership.

Re: To edit or not to edit! that's the question?

Dan has pretty much summed up my thoughts. I think it works well as it is, and without the pylon and wires you wouldn't really have enough left to make it anything more than a pleasant scene.

Re: Using the P mode?

I've never really thought about using P mode. Aperture priority does the job for sports - generally I want minimum depth of field and fast shutter speed so lens wide open and A mode does the job. And...

Re: Exposure changes not visible in M mode..?

Not sure what you are saying here, Dave - do you mean that the image doesn't get lighter or darker as you change exposure? If this is the case it could be because you have Live View Boost switched...
