Re: Opinion?

It is a very busy image and the glove is at the edge of the frame (partly going out actually). The bright area outside the window is distractive and draws my eye away from the interesting machinery....

Re: Lens protection / Filter

All filters will degrade the image to some extent. How important that is, is up to you. I like to maintain the highest quality of the lenses I have and I therefore rely more on lens hoods for...

Re: No MFT 2x TC

I was never really happy with my EC20 when I had 43erds glass. But then again, I didn't have the benefit of fast glass to use it with (I had the 50-200).

Re: Researching The 75-300

You have a very good copy there Ian. I agree that it is excellent VFM for what you get. I got mine a few years ago from HDEW.

Re: Affinity Photo Version 1.6

I am really interested in giving Affinity Photo a go. Yes I know that I can download a free trial but I would like this to coincide with a reduced price offer, which crops up time to time. At the...

Re: DXO buys NIK

I downloaded it when it became free but when I try it, it keeps telling me that it is a trial version.
Why does this happen (I am using it as a plug-in to CS6)?????

Re: New lenses coming

I am happy with the range of glass that I have at the moment and see no need for these new fast Pro primes. I prefer the slower versions that I have as they sit nicely on my Pen F and are far better...

Re: Kinfishers

Although I love kingfisher images, including these posted, the bar is getting higher and higher as to what really stands out (certainly in photographic club circles). These days it has to be them...

Re: HDEW Cameras

The EM1.2 is at a really tempting price (to me) at the moment from HDEW. Not to the missus though as it is less that twelve months since I was allowed to get the Pen F/17mm f1.8 combo :(.

Re: Processing on a tablet

I have used Snapseed on my Samsung tablet. There are some interesting editing tools and it is free. I am thinking about Affinity Pro but as has been said, there is no Android version yet. One of...

Re: The 50-200mm Shines Again!

Excellent. My 50-200 is now history but I will be taking my 40-150 Pro plus MC14 on my EM1.1 when we go on a safari next July. That plus my 12-40 on a separate body (Pen F) should be all I need,...

Re: Diffraction confusion!

In recent months I have tried to avoid small apertures (say f11 and smaller) as this diffraction thing has been in the back of my mind. It has impacted on my ability to get the maximum DoF in...

Re: Olympus or Panasonic ... That is the question.

As for VFM, the 75-300 is superb. But it does need good light due to its slow speed at the long end (actually it is best to avoid the full 300mm if you can). Depending on what you are shooting, I...

Re: Thumbs up for the 14-42 EZ

How does the IQ compare with the 12-50 between 14 and 42 if anyone has both. I have the 12-50 and although its very versatile, I am hankering after something a bit smaller for my Pen F.

Re: New: Gillis London Olympus branded Trafalgar Leather Messenger bag

That looks a very interesting and versatile bag. However, I don't think that my wife would be in favour of me getting another camera bag.........having just bought one of those 22 canvas jobbies...

Re: Old Gear

Do you have any OM stuff? I love the old OM cameras and lenses. Maybe not so much to actually use, but just to appreciate in terms of their build quality.

Re: MC-1.4 Converter

If you have any old OM lenses (or old OM fit lenses), you can use the MC14 with them (camera side of the adapter).

Re: Cwtching Horses

Nicely captured Steve. Good advert for the kit lens, which often get passed by for the 'better' glass.

Re: Greetings from California

A big welcome from me too. I wouldn't want to go back to the bulk that comes with dSLRs and their lenses.
