Re: Any good tutorials for BIF settings?

He mentions F/9 which on micro four thirds would transform into F/4.5 for same depth of field.

I however disagree on using single AF point. You put too much at risk doing that, not a single frame...

Re: Any good tutorials for BIF settings?

Ron,

What you could add or modify is the following:
Slowest shutter speed when Auto-ISO (Menu E1-->ISO Auto Set-->[Lowest S/S Setting] = 1/1600s (or even shorter depending on subject, distance...

Re: Any good tutorials for BIF settings?

Thanks Ron,

Dave also added some useful hints, we seem to have same opionion except when it comes to the C-AF lock, but it may have to do with what background we usually shoot against. I try to...

Re: Flying birds

I have to disagree on that the 300 F/4 is not suitable for BIF.

Re: Any good tutorials for BIF settings?

Hi Ron,

These are the settings that I use.

C-AF (not C-AF Tracking)
Mechanical shutter to avoid rolling shutter issues
L-FPS cranked up to max (10 fps I think it is)
Do not use H-FPS...

Barnacle Geese

I came across this huge flock of Barnacle geese, resting while on passage. Cannot remember seen as many at one place, less than a tenth of the whole gang fitted in the frame.

Thanks for looking...

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

That's with the 300mm f/2.8. We have a few Chaffinch around this winter. Sweden"s second most numerous bird, averaged over 4 seasons. Most are migrants, will be back in May.
