Re: Photo filenames resetting

I have run out of ideas then. I suggest you should in any case be writing down all your settings. Reset the camera and then re-enter the settings. I am convinced this is down to your settings.

Re: Occasional Lock Ups

Never.

Do you have a good SD card?
Try a different SD card.
Clean camera and lens electrical contacts.

Re: Photo filenames resetting

Are you saying that you have a different filename prefix in the different settings?
If so, that is a problem.
ALL the filename settings should be the same everywhere.

Re: Photo filenames resetting

If you had done what I suggested above you would have been able to see what the problem was, i.e. that some of the filename settings were different to others.

Now you have set the C1 settings and...

Re: Trying to save RAW colour and mono jpg

I suppose the ideal for you would be the ability to assign a new toggle function to a button. On pressing the button it would toggle between displaying a completely standard colour rendering of the...

Re: Trying to save RAW colour and mono jpg

Having read the above it seems that what you actually need has little to do with the use of the card slots. You simply want a mono jpg immediately and also the raw file which you can do anything with...

Re: Photo filenames resetting

In that case you have still not set it up right. Try the following.
1. Set the Mode dial to A. Carefully look at all the settings relating to filenames.
2. Set the mode dial to C1. Carefully look...

Re: Photo filenames resetting

I think you forgot, when creating the C1, C2 settings, to make sure your file naming settings were correct.

The solution is to load the C1 setting using the menu, set the filename settings as...

Re: Write protect on OM-D E-M1 Mark ii

You have had good advice already, but here is another idea.

Are you following the correct procedure in Windows when removing the card from the reader? You should click on the little "Safely remove...

Re: Sd card failure ???

Change to SanDisk Extreme Pro, I use their UHS II 300MB/s 64GB cards. They are what Olympus recommend and they are excellent.
Lexar had some technical issues (timing issue in the card firmware)...

Re: Time Lapse

To be fair the menu clearly shows a picture of a clock and multiple images, which means time lapse.

But it would be better if the menus always used words and never pictures.

Re: My first proper Pro-Capture play

Good luck with the BIF. It is never easy, and the smaller the bird the harder is it. Waiting for a bird to fly is a good idea.

With the gannet I was tracking it flying around, waiting for it to...

Re: My first proper Pro-Capture play

The issues you describe are not really specific to the use of ProCapture. I have used it successfully with the 75-300, but I agree it needs good light. Using ProCap L one can retain C-AF focusing...

Turn rear dial.

Re: E-M1.2 overexposing by about one stop.

I think the explanation is that there is nothing wrong. Cameras are designed to adjust to give correct exposure for the subject. i.e. they don't aim to make bright subjects overexposed and dark...

Re: E-M1.2 overexposing by about one stop.

I still don't understand what you think is wrong.
1. Do you think the camera is exposing the photos incorrectly? The title of the thread says it is overexposing by a stop, but I have not seen any...

Re: EM1 MKII Lock Up

You are feeding trolls again. They can't send the camera to Olympus if it does not exist. Don't believe everyone or everything you read on the internet.

Re: EM1 MKII Lock Up

Olympus do store fault data. You can see it by accessing the appropriate pages in the hidden areas. You get to them the same way you find out the number of photos taken, but on a different page.

Re: EM1 MKII Lock Up

All ILC cameras can have the issue. A particular Nikon camera some years ago needed it as it was very sensitive to the voltage (which is why I have a supply of Deoxit).

Please don't use a pencil...

Re: EM1 MKII Lock Up

The atmosphere coats everything with a fine film due to pollution. Think of the inside of your car window. Also fingermarks. This increases the electrical resistance of the connection. The contacts...

Re: EM1 MKII Lock Up

You can buy a 2ml tube of Deoxit on eBay for 6. You only need a few drops each time so one of these will last for many years.

Re: EM1 MKII Lock Up

You need to clean the contacts in the camera, not just on the lens. Deoxit is the ideal cleaner, used on a soft cloth.

Quick checklist:
- update firmware of camera and lenses to latest.
- use a...

Re: EM1 MKII Lock Up

Except that there isn't officially a recommended Lexar card. Check the official tables: http://cs.olympus-imaging.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/compati/media/sd/en_2016_04.cfm
I'm not saying that...
