Re: Several Olympus items for sale

Typo or not it's a great buy.
I was tempted by the 60mm but I see that Mark has saved my bacon ;)
Good luck with the sale some good deals there.

Re: Throstle

Lovely shots and nope I can't really tell either but if I was to have a guess then I'd go for the #1, #3, and #4 as shot with the MC-14 ?
Interested to know the answer though.

Re: Partial lunar eclipse...

That cloudy eclipse shot worked out nicely Bill.

Yes I wasn't watching the settings Henry and just shot off some images before the clouds came back. I'd upped the iso to 640 but was still...

Lovely calm images Alf. I bet the camp wasn't like that though! :) Always good to get a few minutes off to relax.

Re: Daft question

Yep your point was correct but you got your terminology mixed up a bit Henry. Personally I always use the 0s anti shock mode with that little diamond in either single or multi shot modes. I found it...

Re: Another stupid question.

I tried the OVF setting when I first got my EM1 but didn't like it so went back to the default mode which I do really like. I do watch the histogram for highlights but generally I use the EVF to...

Re: Partial lunar eclipse...

Here's one I got with the 40-150 plus MC-20. Cropped quite a lot so not quite the resolution you guys got but not bad I thought for hand held and not stacked. Must have a go at that stacking one day....

MC-20 40-150 Moon

Had a quick hand held go at the Moon last night. There was a bit of wispy cloud so I suspect the gear can do a bit better than this in good conditions. This is just a one off shot tweaked and cropped...

Re: New MC 20 announced.

I agree Andy the x2 DTC is very good I've used it quite a lot but don't forget you can still use it with the MC-20 as well.

Re: Another MC20 question...

Peter I've still got my MC-14 and currently plan to keep it as it's served me well so far. Jury's still out for me at the moment as I've yet to do any back to back 1.4x vs 2x close up resolution and...

Re: July 2019 Photo Challenge: Frozen (As in Action)

This is going to be a great challenge there are some superb shots already. I'd have trouble just picking 3 if I had to do it now and we are only half way through

Re: Another MC20 question...

To be honest although I'd like a 300mm lens I don't really think I actually need one...? mind you never say never ;)
As for the 150-400 well having looked at it at the NEC Photo Show I'm pretty sure...

Re: Another MC20 question...

That's exactly what I've done. I'm very pleased with it although I've yet to really test it out at long distance shooting. Close -ups have come out great so far.

Re: Pop Up Scam?

Well caught John you did a lot better than I did a few months ago. It was a similar scam but for the TV license renewal in an email. It looked really genuine and the email sender looked fine so I...

Re: 11-22 v 9-18 ( 4 thirds, not micro)

I tend to use the 12-100 pretty much all the time now. I find 12mm is generally wide enough for most things. I do still have the 9-18mm but haven't used that for ages either. I also have a little...

Re: 11-22 v 9-18 ( 4 thirds, not micro)

I recently sold my 11-22 as I never used it much and had not used it for ages. It was a lovely lens though as far as I can remember. It always surprised me how nicely it did close ups of flowers. Not...

Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

You did very well Harold. I'm afraid in the branch of industry i was in it was pretty much essential as there were always too many people who thought they needed to know what was going on!

Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

Just downloaded one of your damselfly stereo shots Harold and as I don't have any decent ink I resorted to putting it into powerpoint so I could move the images about. Have to say it worked a treat,...

Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

I've been trying my little Owl viewer on your stereos Harold but it seems that the images are just too far apart for it to work. I found from a bit of Googling that the centre separation between both...
