Don't think that is a colour cast - looks more like an interference pattern. Maybe a side effect of the HiRes jpeg.

Not if you are using a DVI connector at the monitor end. A single-link DVI connector can display a maximum resolution of 19201200 and a dual-link DVI connector is 25601600.
