Re: Photography Show 2019 - Can we manage to meet up this year

No chance IMHO, Phil. I believe I heard someone from Olympus (?Mark Thakera) say it would only work with the 150-400, 300 and 40-150 Pros.

For me the latter would be my main use case: especially...

The Photography Show: other new gear

Thought it might be of interest to have a thread covering some of the other new gear at the show, especially those only available on one stand.

Ricoh GRIII - only on the Wex stand I believe, and...

Re: Club Photographic Competitions

That’s the impression our brain creates, Paul, but actually we are functionally blind when our eyes are moving and the impression of smooth movement is entirely made up. It’s called saccadic masking....

Re: Photography Show 2019 - Can we manage to meet up this year

Yes, I've done that, doing it in 4 bits to get a better-sized copy and sellotaping them together! Looks naff, but at least I've been able to mark legibly all the booths I wanted to visit.

BTW...

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Had a great few days last week in North Norfolk: birding, eating and drinking with my cousin (who's a recently-acquired E-M1ii owner).

We saw a lot of interest, but I particularly liked this...

Re: Rachel

I like this a lot.
Is it in a lift? I keep wondering if I’d crop the white section at the top off, but I think overall it’s better left in.
The expression is wonderful, and asks a lot of questions....

Re: Puddle Jumper

True, but there were plenty of other shots where he shot lots of alternatives before choosing the one winner - eg Magnum ‘Contact Sheets’ which I expect you’ve seen.

I like yours - was he actually...

Re: Resolution and Image Quality

Seems very self-limiting to me, Derek.
Havn't you ever learned to appreciate something by learning more about it?
Anyway, it's the individual's choice.

Re: Resolution and Image Quality

There’s a perennial and entertaining debate to be had between ‘art’ and ‘craft’: so, for everyone laughing at piles of bricks and Tracey’s unmade bed, there are people who say the ‘perfect’...

Re: Resolution and Image Quality

Depends whether you want ‘art’ or ‘reproductions’ and what your budget is (tens or hundreds of quid, or more), and whether you like modernist stuff and Britart. However, I’ve found these people a...

Re: Foreign hire car CDW insurance

Some airlines are a bit clever about this, including BA. You’ll find they usually issue separate bookings for flights and car hire so it doesn’t count as a ‘package’.

Re: Photography Show 2019 - Can we manage to meet up this year

Re: Mount on E-M10

Some people have had problems with the 100-400 on Oly bodies, particularly the M1ii, which as I recall resulted in premature wear to the mount (can’t remember if it was on lens or body). There’s...

Re: Card specs
