Re: Echinopsis Hybrid Razzle Dazzle (Form)

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread

Welcome to the club. Beware of viewing a single frame after several stereo pairs!

It's more of an angle thing than distance. That makes it work, irrespective of magnification or distance. As I do...

Stern von Hemsbach: Wonderful or Just Weird?

I have been cultivating cacti for nearly 60 years and seeing this was a huge surprise. I had to have one in my collection, which is where this flowered...

Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

I have lots of specific guides and find a mixture of ones with photos and ones with coloured drawings works well, especially for mushrooms, where I often consult two or three books, plus websites,...

Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

That is one of the few such guides (including lichens, reptiles, etc.) I don't have, so I have just ordered it. The FSC site didn't show it.

Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

The Bishop's Mitre Shield-Bug Aelia acuminata.

I had seen these, rather spindle-shaped and quite stripey, bugs on the stems of flowering grass in our garden. They were always at or near the tops...

Re: Seymour Railway Heritage Centre

I have a Samyang fisheye because I liked the idea of the distortion. I have had it for several years and have yet to use it, although it has been in my bag a few times.

Not that I have used the...

Re: Laowa 100mm 2:1 Macro Apo on Pre-Order

The lens has been talked about for months.

I have no idea about Canon hardware. My Laowa lenses are Nikon AI mount (apart from the 10-18mm which is Sony E) and I have asked if that mount is a...

Laowa 100mm 2:1 Macro Apo on Pre-Order

I don't know if I will buy this for macro/general. Possibly, as it covers full frame* and would give me 4:1 in m4/3.

* This is an issue:

"to use the lens on Sony FE camera via adapter, make...

Echinopsis Hybrid Razzle Dazzle (Form)

Normally, a hybrid has one colour form or shape, etc. or a set combination of features. The hybrid seems to be part of a "brand" where one or both parents were hybrids and the colours are varied...
