Re: FL-50R Flash Gun and off-camera cord

Hi Doug

Not altogether clear - does the above mean that more than just the detachable base/foot is affected by the damage/repair?

Can you indicate what kind of offer you have in mind? I have...

Re: F/2.0 lenses

You want it Jim - you know you do! It's not for me if the scratch is in the front element - not at the price, anyway

Re: F/2.0 lenses

Thanks Steve: not sure what I'm looking at here. Is it a scratch on the glass then - or on the barrel? Can you give me a clue what it is and where it is please?

Re: C-AF not working

Thanks Derek - think that's cracked it. Couldn't fathom why resetting cured the problem, until the camera was turned off and on again, when C-AF ceased to function once more

C-AF not working

Just bought a new E-5 via an Ebay auction. Despite working my way through the manual and myriad menu settings, I find I have no continuous auto-focus. Nothing. Lens does not move; no confirming...

Re: Olympus E-5

Like you, I've been keeping an eye out for an "as new" E5 - and like you, I was pipped on the recent low-mileage one on Ebay.

But they're getting cheaper new: I can't see any point in paying 800+...

Re: IS with monopod

Thanks all for your interesting replies. Guess all I'm concerned about is to ensure that IS doesn't make things worse when the camera's fixed to something reasonably solid.

Come to think of it...

IS with monopod

This is bugging me!

I know that general advice is to turn off IS when using a tripod. What about a monopod? There's still plenty of scope for side-to-side dithering when using my Manfrotto 680B...

Re: Monopod Advice for 70-300 lens

Correct me if I'm wrong, Peter - but as far as I'm aware you can't turn the "up-down IS off", can you? On my E-3 it's the side-to-side IS which is disabled by choosing IS 2 - to enable panning...

Re: Olympus P440 Printer: anyone got one?

Thanks Ian: that IS quite concerning, and contrary to what I had thought. I tend to use 6"x4"'s as proofs, so I guess I'm not so worried about ultimate longevity. 10"x8"'s may be a different matter...
