Re: Daft question

Olympus claim improved focussing for V3 so might be that or something else has been tweaked?

Re: E-M5 mk iii - same sensor as E-M1ii ?

Some Sony cameras (I can't be bothered to look them up) came out with new sensors with a reduced pixel count targeting low light photography with better DR. My now ancient Samsung S7 mobile phone...

Re: E-M5 mk iii - same sensor as E-M1ii ?

One of micro 4/3rds achiles heels is high ISO so a new sensor with improved high ISO capability rather than pixel count would be what I would like to see, marketing might want increased pixel count...

Re: E-M5 mk iii - same sensor as E-M1ii ?

If it is the sensor that it will be fitted with it raises my hopes that the eventual EM-1 MK III will have a new sensor.

Re: New MC 20 announced.

Years ago my son had a camera which showed similar artifacts shortly before the sensor died. Sure hope it is not that!

Re: MC 20 question...

The none alcoholic Ghost Ship (actually 0.5%) is surprisingly palatable tasting nearly the same, plus it seems easier to get sharp results with hand held shots....*chr

Re: So, is the AF better with firmware 3?

Had another go today. Realized I had C-AF plus tracking set. Works better without tracking, just enlarged the box with the little vertical slider so it was easier to keep on target. Still...

Re: So, is the AF better with firmware 3?

I thought it was just me not being able to find 3x3 or 5x5 but after another video attempt this morning I realize I would not be very good at keeping the target within such a box anyway!
I use the...

Re: So, is the AF better with firmware 3?

Thanks for the advice. I did keep the camera aimed at her but I am not sure how many focus points were activated. I had taken some stills with five points activated but that does not necessarily...

Re: So, is the AF better with firmware 3?

Not had much chance to try out C-AF which is my main interest but the other day I took some video of my wife riding a black and white horse so she could see her riding technique which should help her...

Re: I only went it to have a look....

Super lens, replaced my 12-40 too.
My wife gets very worried if I pop in anywhere whilst muttering "it's just for a look, darling". She knows me too well! *yes

Re: E-M1X thoughts and excellent Dave Etchells video

Mixed feelings even if I could afford one.
At that size it would have to be specifically for shooting wildlife, BIFS in particular. The thought of the camera with the newly announced zoom or with...

Re: sensor protection

I think Canon do that with their new full frame mirrorless camera the EOS R.

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

Canon have had a 200-400 f4 with a built in 1.4 converter for years, you just flick a switch and it swings into position all internally. Very good but very very expensive.

Re: Police stop & ID in U.K. shopping centres?

Interesting thread. If I wanted to record security devices in a shopping center I would amble slowly with my phone to my ear apparently in deep conversation whilst all the time shooting a video in...

Re: E-M1 MkII, should the I.S. make a noise.

Should be easy enough to check, take some shots at really slow shutter speeds with and without IS turned on. Hopefully the diffrence in the number of sharp shots will confirm whether or not IS is...

Re: Underwhelming CAF - 9 and 5 point modes

Did not realize that, plain stupid design then. The whole reason for selecting the 5 or 9 box is when single point is too hard to keep on a fast moving erratic target whilst all 121 could find the...
