Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

Did you follow the procedure all the way to the end? The program saves your custom settings, deletes them during the update and once the update is done there’s a final step to put the custom settings...

Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

I wondered why mine were at f5.6, I thought I must have set something wrong. I've set my sports and wildlife custom modes back to f2.8 and re-saved them and they're staying at f2.8.

Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

Thanks for this. I have actually updated mine now and really pleased. They've implemented the two things that bugged me, ie not being able to use menus/review images when the card was being written...

Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

Just tried it myself and it does the same to me, however it's only usually one square off centre most of the time. If I turn it off it's much more random. TBH though 99.99999% of the time I use...

Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

Does anyone know what the low ISO processing (Detail Priority) actually is? Is it a combined image shooting mode like hi-res and therefore can only be used on a tripod and static subjects, otherwise...

Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

Thanks, I'll give it a go later. Can you confirm whether you still can't use the EVF whilst the screen is flipped out?

Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

Yep looks good, can actually use the camera whilst it's still writing. Some good other tweaks too. Just want to be able to use the EVF when the screen is flipped out now and it'll be just about...

Re: How best to expose a sunset without a graduated filter?

That's the obvious choice for me as I have the firecrest holder, however I have the 100x150mm system (as I use if for FF too) and a 3 stop reverse grad is £120, and that's just the resin version :(

Re: May 2019 Photo Challenge: Rule of Thirds

Lol, it was nothing really. I just made a comment saying that I really liked it and was asked to remove the comment, and they also said there's better images to vote on ;)

Re: How best to expose a sunset without a graduated filter?

No you can't do that as you'd have the edge of the filter running across your image :tup

Re: How best to expose a sunset without a graduated filter?

Thanks, I think I'll suggest it to Olympus as a firmware update if it's possible :tup

Re: How best to expose a sunset without a graduated filter?

I keep meaning to look at blending images in PS rather than using HDR function in LR but I'm yet to get around to it (I'm not a huge fan of the HDR in LR). There's plenty of tutorials on youtube...

Re: How best to expose a sunset without a graduated filter?

I've been looking for a good reversed grad for a while but they all seem to be really expensive, do you have any recommendations?

Re: EVF when screen flipped out.

That's all I've found too. Maybe he was getting confused with the EM1x?

EVF when screen flipped out.

One thing I've always found a touch annoying is that I can't use the EVF when the screen is flipped out on the EM1-II, however when I was with Mike Inkley the other week he told me that he can with...

Re: Noise issues

I don't think there's any settings like that tbh, not that I'm aware of. Sounds like a weird glitch to me.

Re: Forum enhancements?

Kind of, but not quite as that means you have to navigate to your CP, although that is better than going back to emails as I have been doing.

Here's what I mean though, this is a screen shot from...

Re: May 2019 Photo Challenge: Rule of Thirds

I agree, it took my eye straight away. And despite blu-by-u doing his best to stop me voting for it I still went ahead and voted for it ;)

Re: New firmware finally imminent?

Talking of which is there a way to set up an Fn button as exp comp as this could give me the functionality that I want. I find the exp comp button on my Nikon very handy.

Re: Forum enhancements?

Yep so do I, but as I mentioned in my initial post if I've received several emails from different threads I keep having to go back and forth from the forum to emails and back again, which isn't great.

Forum enhancements?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I couldn't find a specific area.

I'm wondering if it's possible to add some kind of notifications to this forum like other forums so you...
