Re: Norwich to London - Holga plastic lens

Nice results, Alf.
As I said earlier I'm more than tempted on the Sol 22. Decision time coming up.

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

So Vladimir could be looking in envy at the UK - I give it 6 months.

Advancing forwards, in 5 years time the utilities and transport system will be nationalised, with wild-fire strikes the norm....

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

BoJo - the worst possible outcome. Anna Soubry on the other hand and there should be enough support for a second referendum, unless JC whips the party to defeat the government. I suspect the latter,...

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

If TM receives the vote of no confidence from the 1922 committee does she phone DT and J-CJ saying merry Christmas, see you?!
Or possibly is this the moment the EU provides the UK with a duplicate...

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

What are the chances ->

a) BoJo becomes leader.
b) UK leaves the EU on WTO.
c) Would a nun place a bet?

Re: Norwich to London - Holga plastic lens

I've also considered modifying the Helios 44 or similar (by reversing the objective element) but the image circle requirements of FF -> uFT don't add up.

Older lens designs have a certain...

Re: Norwich to London - Holga plastic lens

Good luck Mark, unless you're happy with one in white!
I found one in Germany (via Amazon), and today I received confirmation it's on it's way.

I also like the look of the Lensbaby sol 22, might...

Just Googled (the verb to conduct an Internet search), the U.K. is 3rd largest contributor (source: https://fullfact.org/europe/uk-one-biggest-contributors-eu-budget/ ).

In principle it should...

Re: New EM1X Photos

I can't imagine professional users choosing a bloated camera such as this with a sensor only one quarter the area of a full frame (FF). It doesn't make sense at all. uFT is chosen by the serious...

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

I'm not against continued membership of the EU and agree it better to be within to be able to veto unfavourable new initiatives. However, the EU has become too bureaucratic and I worry about the...

It looks a monster of a camera, doesn't make sense at all. And it's supposed to be uFT, presumably!

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

It does pi$$ me off that we're giving hand-outs to other countries - it's like working for a company and everyone is paid equally irrespective of skills and contribution etc. It's like a form of...

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

Since the Irish do a good deal of trade with its nearest land mass, it might make (some) sense if they were to submit their Article 50 and follow us. Better and stronger together.

Re: How are we going to save the planet?

In addition, there's also all the junk people purchase (needlessly in my opinion) and give each other as Christmas presents. Stuff you don't need or want.

Eg "...oh thanks, we were getting short...

Re: How are we going to save the planet?

At this time of year it is my opinion that Christmas Lights and Christmas Cards are destroying the planet.

Fear not for planet earth, it will survive. Normality in the sense of a balance will be...

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

For something so monumental does the the system of 'first past the post' offer sufficient margin?! (thats an interrobang); I think not. It works during elections because the electorate can reverse...

Re: Norwich to London - Holga plastic lens

Great stuff, AMc. Keep 'em coming!

I've managed to bag one from Germany, more than I'd like to pay but I firmly believe it's better value than a hyper-sharp lens. It's a black version too!

Re: Norwich to London - Holga plastic lens

These Holga 25mm f/8 lenses for MFT are like Hens' Teeth. There's a Chinese supplier on ebay, but all white, which is not all right.

Anyone have one for sale, preferably in black?

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

I hope TMs deal is voter down tomorrow. If a general election follows I foretell a sizeable majority if Labour pledge a second referendum. Suffering 5 years of JC could be worth it. And that's said...
